And what about UGA?

dani149

Some of you have been asking me about the UGA itself. It definitely deserves a separate post; well, this is what I'm here for, right? So... Athens is all about the University. It came to be because of the UGA, it is the central and most important part of the city. It is scattered on several locations throughout the city. UGA buses operate throughout the campus and there's also #AthensTransit system. All the buses are free for the UGA students/faculty/staff with the UGA card (once you get it. :)). It is not, however, so easy to find out which one to take and/or to figure out the buses' schedule, even with the help of the UGA app. (Or is it just me? :))

The first impressions of the #UGAMainCampus are stunning. See how it feels for you...

The rest of the buildings hosting different departments look very much alike...

Brown Hall - Germanic and Slavic Studies and Comparative Literature

However, the main building of the #CollegeofEnvironmentandDesign which hosts me speaks for itself: do what you preach. :)

I was assigned an office in the #DenmarkBuilding. Room 204, if you ever want to visit me. A view can be really inspiring... (curious squirrels and chipmunks look at me and I look at them :))

So much about buildings. And what about the beginning of the academic year? A field trip to the #MorganCounty to see how historic preservation works in practice! We visited #Madison, #Botswick, #Rutledge, #HardLaborCreekStatePark...

Among several visited historic houses and good practice regeneration projects, have a look at some of them...

Hard Labor Creek State Park

#HardLaborCreekStatePark is not just a beautiful camping space, it has also served as a stage for #Fridaythe13th (Part 6 if you ever went so far in watching it!).

Yes, Friday the 13th was filmed right here!

As much as field trips are a hands-on educational experiences, on a hot hot August the 13th summer day, they can be tiring. A break in Madison's #Amici restaurant is a life saver...

And you should try Georgia Cobb...

No words necessary... Just enjoy!
